About Danny J Indelicato
Dr. Indelicato is a tenured Professor and Associate Vice Chair of the University of Florida Department of Radiation Oncology. He currently holds the William and Joan Mendenhall Endowed Professorship of Pediatric Radiotherapy and directs the University of Florida pediatric radiotherapy program. He was named a Fellow of the British Royal College of Radiology in 2023 and a Fellow of the American Society of Radiation Oncology in 2024.
An established cancer researcher, he has contributed to authorship of over 10 book chapters and has published over 200 articles in respected medical journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet Oncology, Cancer, The International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics, and Medical Physics. Dr. Indelicato’s research is supported by a University of Florida Term Professorship position and over a million dollars in external funding.
Dr. Indelicato directs the pediatric proton therapy fellowship program and plays an active role in resident education, including physician trainees from the University of Florida, Mayo Clinic, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Nemours Children’s Specialty Clinic. He has received the University of Florida College of Medicine Exemplary Teacher Award and the University of Florida College of Medicine International Educator Award. Dr. Indelicato is the current Education Chair for the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Society. He is a pediatric cancer examiner for the American Board of Radiology and serves on the National Cancer Institute Pediatric Central IRB.
